In the Waves of Space

megha ramkumar

trapped in

moonlight bubbles;

suffocating

no O2

earth emerald and

jasper jupiter tango

around the sun

no safety tethers

no destination

falling into a

blackhole of endless time

and quiet void

orbiting orion

betelgeuse and rigel

a mirage of reality

but the beauty of it all

crashes the blue luna

no stars, no

life everything contrary

 of a mouthwatering apple pie

a dollop of butter

slices of crimson apples

brown sugar crystals

grains of fine flour

a promise of bliss

at first bite

unlike the universe

formed through a

recipe with no instructions

unpredictable ; every time

underneath painted panoramas- visible is

an emerald earth

shattered by obsidian meteorites

a jasper jupiter covered

in tawny ammonia clouds

chunks of blue

luna floating into silent void

and greedy blackholes

a lost traveler bursting

moonlight bubbles open

trying to breathe

a universe where the planets

and stars waltz slowly just

to make ends meet

a universe where everything

is what it isn’t

seeing  it all made me question

what if the universe

was as simple as apple pie?
